3rd ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

    On 1 March 2012, the closing ceremony of third annual sports meet was organised at MHR DAV Institute of Nursing Jalandhar. On this occasion Sh. Rajan Gupta ji , DGP , PAP Punjab was the Chief Guest. Sh. M.L. Aeri ji, Administrator, Medical and Paramedical Institutes, DAV CMC and Mrs. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj, Principal, HMV College were the guests of honour. Principals of various Institutes were also present to grace the occasion. Principal Mrs. Veena Williams welcomed the Chief Guest with floral sapling and honoured him with shawl and College Momento. Guest of honour and other guests were also welcomed with flower pots and momento. The chief guest, guest of honour along with Principal, Vice Principal and other guests released balloons and pigeons in air and also nd st unflurred the national flag. The sports meet started on 22 feb 2012 and 1 march was the closing day of sports week. The students and teachers participated with full spirit and enjoyed the whole event. Various sports were played during the week like kho-kho, volley ball, badminton, chess, carrom, long jump, disc throw, javelin throw and on the last day 100 meter race, sac race, 3 legged race, lemon and spoon race and march past were conducted. The teachers and Principal also participated in lemon and spoon race, 100 meter race and tug of war and won prizes. Special 100 meter race was also organized for peon category. Cultural items were also organized to boost up the spirits of the players. Chief guest , Guest of Honour, Principal, Vice Principal and other guests distributed the prizes to the winners of all games and also gave the overall trophy to the winning house that is “Red House'. The Chief guest then congratulated the Red House and all the winners and also congratulated those who participated in the games and played with true sportsmanship. For the entertainment, giddha was performed by the students. Principal, Mrs. Veena Williams then thanked the Chief Guest for sparing his time to grace the occasion and thanked everyone for making it a successful event. The program ended with National Anthem.
