    16TH TO 21ST APRIL 2018 was celebrated as fire safety week in M.H.R DAV Institute of Nursing, Jalandhar • Week long activities were planned in order to disseminate information and create awareness among general public in community and hospital including campus itself. • Along with this public awareness campaign was carried out via role play in Kartarpur area and civil hospital jalandhar. • Poster exhibition on fire safety was done by B.Sc Nursing, GNM; Post basic B.Sc nursing and M.Sc nursing students. • Students did role play and demonstrated various evacuation methods do’s and don’ts during occurrence of fire and also distributed pamphlets. • Fire safety drill was organized in campus premises by Mr. Deepak from DN Fire safety services, Ludhiana, Students were taught how to use fire extinguishers and mock drill was also conducted fire safety week activities were concluded by a seminar in college auditorium through which detailed information about prevention and precaution of fire accidents were discussed with the use of audio visual aids. Ms. Neeraj Joshi (Lecturer) Medical Surgical Nursing spoke on fire control how to use fire extinguisher, use of fire smoke sensors. She also emphasized how to evaluate self from high rise building in case of fire incidence. • Students were also made aware regarding control of fire in the hospital and laboratories. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Veena Williams addressed the students and emphasized on being informed about do’s and don’ts and also to impart information among others and stay safe.
